Career Prospects

At Redeemer’s University, our Microbiology programme enjoys the benefits of our well equipped laboratories, the experience of internationally acclaimed teaching and technical staff and a robust curriculum that focuses on the latest developments and issues in this field.

You would study a broad range of microbes at both molecular and cellular levels, their ecology, how they interact with higher organisms and how we can also exploit them for the good of humanity.

Studying for a Microbiology degree here, you would get to benefit from the status of Redeemer’ University as the Host University for the study of Genomics of Infectious Diseases under the World Bank-funded African Centre of Excellent Project.

Since microbes and their actions pervade all aspects of our increasingly complex society, employment sphere for Microbiologists is very wide and still expanding. However, the industrial sector among others still remains a staple market for employment opportunities.
