As part of its efforts to redesign, reclaim and reposition Redeemer’s University as a foremost visionary citadel of learning that is ethically governed in line with the founding ideals of its proprietors, the Governing Council has appointed Mrs. Mojisola Oluyemi Oje as the Registrar and Secretary to Council of the institution for a single term of five years with effect from 1st September 2023.

Mrs Oje holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Industrial Chemistry with Second Class (Honours) Upper Division from Ogun State University (now Olabisi Onabanjo University), Ago-Iwoye in 1986. She also obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Chemistry (Industrial Chemistry) from the University of Ibadan, Ibadan in 1988. At the end of her undergraduate programme, she won the award of the Best Graduating Student in the Department of Chemical Sciences for the 1985/1986 Academic Session.

She has more than 30 years of post-qualification work experience in the private sector and university system, both in administration and teaching. She started her career as a Graduate Assistant at Ogun State University in 1987. She enjoyed the financial sponsorship of her Master’s degree programme, by the University, for emerging as the 1985/1986 best-graduating student in her department. She returned to Ogun State University in 1988 and spent three years in teaching and research as Assistant Lecturer.

Mrs. Oje, thereafter, joined the services of a blue-chip company, Berger Paints Nigeria Plc, Ikeja, Lagos, as a Chemist in 1993. She was appointed as Training Manager in 1994 and rose to become the Personnel Manager of the company in 2000. She managed human resources matters and was also responsible for the establishment and maintenance of a quality system to the requirements of ISO 9002:1994 and ISO 9001:2000 Standards for the company between 1997 and 2003, as Quality Assurance Manager/Quality Systems Manager.

She joined the services of the Redeemer’s University as an Assistant Registrar and one of its pioneer staff in 2005. She worked and served as Head of Human Resources and Academic Affairs Divisions where she brought to bear her astute experience from the private sector. She was duly appointed Acting Registrar and Secretary to the Council of the University by its Governing Council in August 2011 and served till January 2013. She also served in the same capacity as Acting Registrar from January 2018 to April 2018.

Mrs. Oje rose to the position of Deputy Registrar in 2017. In January 2018, she served as Secretary to the Committee of Vice-Chancellors and Registrars of Private Universities (CVCRPU). She has also served as Chairperson of many Committees, Panels and Task Forces in the University and won some laurels for her meritorious services to the institution. The awards include: Award for Best Senior Staff of the Year 2007, Meritorious Award for 2010, Special Appreciation  Award (2013), Certificate of Recognition of Outstanding Service (2015), Meritorious Service Award (2017)  and  Outstanding Service Award (2023).

Until her appointment as the 4th substantive Registrar of the Redeemer’s University, she is a Member of the University Governing Council (from August 2021 to August 2023). She is a full member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) and the Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (ANUPA). She was President of ANUPA, Redeemer’s University Branch from November 2016 to August 2023.

Meanwhile, the Governing Council has appointed Mrs Patience Saliu as the Acting Bursar with immediate effect pending the appointment of the substantive Bursar for the university.

Mrs Saliu obtained a Master of Science in Management (Accounting option) in 2017 from the prestigious Redeemer’s University, Ede. She graduated earlier from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, in 2012.  She is currently a Doctoral student at the Department of Accounting at Redeemer’s University, Ede, Osun State.

She has been a long-standing chartered member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria since 2009 and also a member of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators.

She has over two decades of cross-industry experience in the manufacturing, automobile industry and the university system. She is a very disciplined, industrious and pragmatic professional who has won many awards within and outside the university. She joined the services of the university as Accountant I in 2005 and rose through the ranks to become Deputy Bursar in 2022.
