REDEEMER’S UNIVERSITY ENGINEERING STUDENTS SHINE AT OAU COMPETITION

Students from the Faculty of Engineering, Redeemer’s University, Ede shone at the 9th edition of Prof. M. O. Ogedengbe Annual Lecture which was held at Obafemi Awolowo University as they emerged victorious in the presentations.

                The lecture which had the theme “AI for Sustainable Construction: the Role of Artificial Intelligence in Ensuring Sustainability in Modern Civil Engineering” was hosted by the Nigerian Civil Engineering Student Association (NICESA), Obafemi Awolowo University chapter, saw Redeemer’s University emerge victorious with 63 per cent against Obafemi Awolowo University’s 50 per cent.

                The Vice-Dean, Department of Civil Engineering in the Faculty of Technology, Dr. A. A. Akindahunsi expressed his surprise at the feat recorded by the RUN students noting that this achievement not only showcase the talent within Redeemer’s University but also highlights the commitment of its students to excellence in the field of civil engineering.

                Osun State University, Redeemer’s University, and the host institution, Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) were slated to participate in the discussions on “sustainable construction practices.” However, Osun State University withdrew from the competition due to a clash in the institution’s examinations, leaving only two contenders.
