The Redeemer’s University inter-level games have come and gone, but the memories will linger for long in the minds of the participants and students of Redeemer’s University.
The inter-level games, which started on Friday, May 17th, and ended on Sunday, May 19th, was declared open by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Shadrach Akindele, who encouraged the students to compete in the spirit of sportsmanship with fairness while avoiding the act of playing as if ‘it is do-or-die to win.’
The male and female football, basketball, and volleyball matches were held at the main sports complex, while athletics and board games like scrabble and chess took place at strategic locations. The overall winner for the inter-level competition, final-year students comprising 400 and 500 level students, emerged as the winner with 95 points, while the 300 and 200 level had a 90-point tie and the 100-level had 50 points.
Other dignitaries in attendance at the games included the Registrar, Mrs. Mojisola Oje, who was represented by the Deputy Registrar, Council and General Administration, Mr. Ademola Ipenko, the Acting Bursar, Mrs. Patience Saliu, the Librarian, Dr. Akinniyi Adeleke, Ag. Sports Director, Dr. Damilola Babarinde, the Chief Security Officer of Redeemer’s University, Mr. Oginni, students, and other members of staff.
