Five scholars in Redeemer’s University are among the top 500 researchers ranked for 2025, as released by SciVal, a subsidiary of Elsevier that ranks researchers all over the world yearly. Dr. Olanrewaju S. Adesina, Prof. Christian Happi, Prof. Adewale Adewuyi, Dr. Felix Olajide Talabi and Dr. Martins O. Omorogie are the lectures that made the accomplishment.
Dr Adesina, who was ranked no 78 for 2024, is now ranked no 85 for 2025; Prof Happi, who was ranked 140 for 2024, is now ranked 163 for 2025; Prof Adewuyi, who was ranked 201 for 2024, is now ranked no 205 for 2025; Dr. Talabi of the Department of Mass Communication who was ranked 469 for 2024 is now ranked 249 for 2025 while Dr. Omorogie who was ranked 449 for 2024 is now ranked no 443 for 2025.
It would be recalled that the Vice-Chancellor circulated the document earlier on the Senate platform to encourage the academic community members, in line with the proprietor’s vision that Redeemer’s University must be among the top ten in the world.
Times Higher Education uses research documents in Scopus to rank universities all over the world yearly. As of November 2024, Redeemer’s University has already been credited with 226 publications for 2024 as against 210 publications for 2023, 168 for 2022, 141 for 2021 and 111 publications for 2020, making a total of 856 publications for the last five years. Among other things, universities can apply for THE ranking provided they have a thousand cumulative publication documents in Scopus in the previous five years.
