Directorate of Academic Planning and Quality Assurance

BRIEF HISTORY

The Directorate of Academic Planning and Quality Assurance (DAPQA) started as Directorate of Academic Planning (DAP)on 1st August, 2006 with two pioneer Academic Planning Officers (APOs) and was headed by Mr. Bernard Ejugu Njor, (APO I reporting directly to the Registrar) and supported by Mrs. Adenike Esther Soyinka (APO II then).  On 2nd June, 2008, Mr. Olatunji Olugbemi Popoola was appointed as the Chief Academic Planning Officer (CAPO) and took over the leadership of the Directorate (reporting directly to the Registrar). In January 2013, the Directorate was renamed the Directorate of Academic Planning and Quality Assurance (DAPQA) and Professor Kayode Samuel Adekeye was appointed as the Director and served until January 2019. In February 2019, Professor Emmanual Iyayi Unuabonah (Late) was appointed as Director and served until March 2025. Currently (May 2025), the Directorate has four staff: two Deputy Directors, one Academic Planning Officer II and a Clerical Officer.
