The Visitor to the Redeemer’s University, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye has said Redeemer’s University alumni should never forget Redeemer’s University because it is their alma mater.
He made this charge while admonishing the ‘More Than Conqueror’ graduating set of 2024 during his interaction with the graduands. The event which took place on Thursday, 3rd October 2024 at Redemption City, marked the second day in the ongoing 2024 convocation ceremony which started on Wednesday, 2nd October and will end on 11th October, 2024.
While speaking with the graduands, the Erudite Mathematician, who is also the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, reminded them of their importance to him as they occupy a big place in his heart. He reiterated the school’s vision noting that graduates of the university will never job hunt but will be employers of labour in their respective discipline.
Speaking further, Adeboye expressed his wishes for the university to be fully funded by alumni and to also be among the Ivy league schools in the world.
“I am looking forward to a time when the alumni alone will be able to fund Redeemer’s University and be lecturers, Deans of Department and Principal Officers in the institution,” he said.
He noted that some Ivy league Universities started with their alumni contributing their quota into making the name of their university (s) great.
“The link between father-child is the link between Graduates and their universities,” as he admonished them not to ever forget RUN.
Citing himself as an example, he mentioned how he is contributing positively especially in Mathematics in all the three universities that he has had the opportunity to attend; University of Nigeria, University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University where he graduated in 1967), and University of Lagos.
