Redeemer’s University Governing Council Abolishes Transcript Fees

As part of efforts toward strengthening ties and encouraging the growth and development of the Alumni, the Governing Council of Redeemer’s University Ede, has abolished the payment of transcript fees for its alumni seeking admission into postgraduate programmes within the College of Postgraduate Studies of the institution.

In a document by the Registrar and Secretary to Council, Mr. Olukayode Akindele, this decision was reached at the 65th Statutory Meeting of Council and is geared toward ensuring the advancement of the Alumni.

Reacting to the development, the Senior Alumni Relations Officer of the institution Mr. Olufemi Bellos lauded the Governing Council for being proactive in taking the decision as according to him, “this is one of the things we have been working on to ensure that we have more alumni coming back to patronise the PG programmes of the university and in so doing, start contributing their quota towards the development of the university”. According to Mr. Bellos, you can only be committed where you are valued and the University has shown by this gesture, that the alumni are indeed valued.

It will be recalled that some time ago, in a bid to promote the postgraduate programmes of the university, the Governing Council made all masters programmes tuition-free for everyone, thereby providing easy access to quality education for desirous and qualified members of the public in line with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 of the United Nations (UN).
