About this programme

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into a full-time post graduate programme of the Redeemer’s University this session

PGD and M.A with specialisation in

a. M. A in English Language

b. M. A in Literature in English

c. PGD in Professional Communication

 

 
Admission Requirement

For admission into M.A (English) with specialisation in (a). English Language (b). Literature-in-English, should possess good (Hons) Degrees or Higher National Diploma, from recognised institutions. In addition, 


Five (5) O’level credit passes to include English Language, Literature in English and at least a Pass in Mathematics.

Candidates for admission to the M. A. programme in English will normally be graduates of English with Second Class (Hons) Upper Division from universities recognised by the Senate of Redeemer's University. However, graduates of English with Second Class (Hons) Lower Division, and those from related disciplines (such as  Education/English or Linguistics) may, from time to time, be considered under specific terms (such as sitting for a qualifying examination).


Other General Requirements

In addition to the various departmental requirements, prospective candidates must satisfy the general regulations governing postgraduate admissions at the Redeemer’s University:

a. must participate and pass the validity interview of the College of Postgraduate Studies Redeemer’s University.

b. must have completed the mandatory one year National Youth Service Corps
(NYSC) programme or certificate of exemption in lieu.

c. to submit three (3) referee's report attesting to the candidate's intellectual capacity and aptitude for independent research problem solving.

Opportunities for Scholarship awards are available for qualified candidates


DURATION OF PROGRAMME
All Academic and Professional Masters of Arts and Science Programmes shall be for a minimum period of four (4) academic semesters (24 months) and a maximum of six (6) academic semesters (36 calendar months), while PhD programmes are for a minimum of six (6) academic semesters (36 calendar months) and maximum of (48 months) i.e. eight (8) academics semesters.
