Redeemer’s University Appoints Professor Oloyede As Director, DGST

 The College of Management and Social Sciences for the first time in its history has the Director of the Directorate of General Studies appointed from its midst by the current University Administration in the person of Professor Bayo Oloyede, an accomplished media scholar, renowned author and consultant to United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization on Media and Information Literacy.            

Professor Oloyede is an alumnus of the prestigious University of Lagos where he obtained his first degree and also made history as the first postgraduate student to make distinction in MSc Mass Communication in the institution. He was a Doctoral Laureate of the Council for the Development of Economic and Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA) at the University of Ibadan where he obtained his Doctoral degree in Communication. 

His erudition and brilliance led to his being made an assessor and reviewer to many local and international journals.  He is presently an external assessor and examiner to over 18 universities.  He is a resource person to both the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and the National Universities Commission (NUC).  He has been listed in the Media World Year Book since 1994.

 Before his appointment he was the head of the Department of Mass Communication and currently serving as the Board Chairman, Directorate of Educational Services and Training of the University.

As an intellectually active Professor of Mass Communication, he is expected to take the directorate to new heights.
