Contrary to the common saying that a prophet has no honour in his hometown, Professor Debo Adeyewa recently made a triumphant return to Government Science and Technical College, Bukuru, Jos, Plateau State, to receive an award for excellence (Educational Category) for outstanding contribution to nation building in commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the college.

According to the President of the Bukuru Old Students Association Technical(BOSAT),Rev. Henry Miri, all the awardees were selected based on excellence and honest contribution to the society.

Speaking  at the event, the Principal of the College, Mr. Emmanuel  Gokir, said that he was elated and proud to see the distinguished alumni of the college being honoured,  during his tenure as the Principal, for their various contributions to their alma-mata and also to the society.

He added that the tradition of excellence which his administration inherited has been on since the inception of the college 60 years ago. "After 60 years in existence, the college is still waxing stronger in the area of discipline and academic excellence," he stated.
