As part of its value adding proposition, Redeemer’s University Tekena Tamuno Library recently organized a state wide inter-secondary schools’ quiz competition in commemoration of the 2017 National Library Week.
The event which was held at the university auditorium saw a mix of 14 private and public secondary schools contesting in eight subjects for the available prizes and trophy to be won.
Emerging the overall winner was Adventist Government High School, Ede while Osogbo Government High and Doyin International School, Osogbo emerged 1st and 2nd runners up respectively.
Representing the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Debo Adeyewa at the event, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kayode Adekeye highlighted various landmark achievements of the university and commended the Library for organizing the event.
The Chairman of the occasion and Principal, Osogbo Government High School, Mrs. Folorunsho Ladapo, described the Redeemer’s University as God’s wonder in the area of education.
She further noted the programme was laudable and it gave room for the children of the poor and rich to battle intellectually on an equal ground. She also commended the staffing, structure, ambience and resources of the university library.
