MULTIMEDIA UNIT Aim: To provide multimedia services to patrons Get access to our multimedia resources • Compact discs – both audio/video on different subjects for your learning and information needs • Videos - Educational, recreational, aesthetic • Transparencies on various disciplines accounting, sciences, geography • Tapes & Audio • Floppy disks in different subject areas • Television/Radio services Opening hours: 8am – 10pm, Monday to Friday ACQUISITIONS AND BOOK PROCESSING UNIT The primary objective of the Acquisitions and Book Processing Unit is to acquire all relevant information resources for the RUN library. The Unit does this by purchase, gift from organizations and individuals, and bequeaths. Another important function of the Unit is processing of all information resources acquired for RUN library. The processing involves accessioning, database creation to reflect acquisition by subject and cost and liaising with other Units in the RUN library to provide adequate information on RUN library holdings to all users, especially the teaching academic staff. ACQUISITIONS Currently the library holdings is put at: 17, 239 SERIALS /DOCUMENTS UNIT SERIALS Aim: • Provision of relevant and up-to-date journals • To satisfy staff and students information needs Holdings: • Local Journal ------------------95 Titles • Foreign Journals --------------33 Titles Seating capacity: -------------------------72 DOCUMENTS Aim: • To provide relevant government and international organizations • To see it that staff and students have access to the materials • To ensure that users have their information needs met promptly Holding: Government publications --------------------------410 Volumes International organizations publications -------1300 Volumes Seating capacity --------------------------------------18 RUN VIRTUAL LIBRARY E-mail:
