The Redeemer’s University, Ede, Osun State, has partnered with Samsung Electronics West Africa to bring digital learning closer to its students.

Thirty electronic boards, with inbuilt easy-to-use immersive technology for the digital classroom, have been inaugurated in the university.

It was gathered that the e-boards have an inbuilt software that provides simplified direct access to e-books, CDs, multimedia learning materials and internet content.

According to the Director, Samsung Enterprise Business, Samsung Electronics West Africa, Charles Ojei, the ‘Classroom digitisation’ will bring interactive learning environment to its students.

“We are committed to partnering with this university to ensure that you achieve your goals in terms of digitization,” Ojei said.

Speaking about the e-boards, the Head, Enterprise Display Solutions, Samsung Electronics West Africa, Anu-Rotimi Agboola, said they will encourage ensure teaching and learning experiences in the classroom.

“The e-boards will help to deliver rich content and interactivity to the classrooms," Agboola said.

"It will also provide the teachers with greater control over their classrooms and increase student engagement while ensuring a more efficient transfer of materials to students.

"It will aid more participation, more efficient communication and an improved classroom management and performance."

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adebowale Adeyewa, said that the partnership was in line with the university's commitment to digitizing learning.

“Redeemer’s University is committed to bringing new technology closer to our students, while shaping their destinies," Adeyewa said.

"Our partnership with Samsung is yet another step in this direction."We believe that this collaborative learning environment will improve students’ retention rates.”

With 30 e-boards, Redeemer's University has become the university with the largest e-board distribution in Nigeria.
